Review Oral Health

A child’s oral health review is a thorough yet gentle look at their growing smile. We check each tooth, gums, and bite, making sure everything is healthy and developing just right. Using kid-friendly language, our pediatric dentist explains what they see, offers tips for brushing and flossing, and answers any questions—turning the visit into a fun, educational experience your child will remember fondly.

Examine and Clean

Our pediatric examination and cleaning are designed to keep young smiles healthy and confident. We gently check each tooth and gum, then give them a thorough yet comfortable clean—removing plaque, polishing for shine, and leaving your child’s smile feeling fresh, bright, and cared for.

Take Dental X-Rays

Our pediatric dental X-rays use the latest low-dose technology to keep little patients safe while giving us a clear view of teeth, roots, and developing smiles. Quick and comfortable, they help us spot concerns early—so your child’s care is always precise and proactive.

It can be too stressful for a child to come in for an appointment too early. We recommend that children come in at around two years old—when they have enough teeth and may be less scared or confused about what is happening during a dental cleaning. That said, parents are always encouraged to call us at any age with concerns. And if your child experiences any trauma or incident involving their mouth or teeth, we absolutely want them to come see us right away.

The best way to help your child feel comfortable at the dentist is to model the attitude you want them to have. By remaining calm and relaxed throughout the appointment, parents can put their children at ease. It may also be helpful to describe what will happen during each step of the appointment. Our pediatric dentists can assist you with this if you’re unsure of what to say to your child.

Before even coming in for their first dental visit, good oral hygiene for your kids starts at home. You can brush your baby’s teeth with toothbrushes that are designed for infants, which are available at most local drugstores. You can also gently pat the gums with a soft, damp, cloth after your child has eaten.
